Tigers Amongst The Goals - Hull City

Tigers Amongst The Goals

When Jarrod Bowen hit the back of the net at Brentford last weekend, his 15th goal of a productive season, it confirmed that the Tigers had had their best league season in front of goal for more than a decade.

The goal scored at Griffin Park took the tally for 2017/18 to 70, the most registered in a regular league season since 2004/05 when 80 goals were bagged with Stuart Elliott contributing 27 from the left wing as promotion from League One was secured.

This season’s total is also the Club’s highest in the second tier since the 1969/70 season when the net was found 72 times in 42 matches, Chris Chilton and Ken Wagstaff leading the way with 18 goals each.

It’s certainly a positive that Head Coach Nigel Adkins will want to build on in 2018/19.
