Nigel Adkins says that he will select a side to face Brentford on Sunday with one eye on the future.
The Head Coach has 24 players pushing for inclusion at Griffin Park, including 20-year-old midfielder Dan Batty (pictured) who could be in line for a role against the Bees.
“We’ve got 24 players training and they all want to be involved on Sunday,” said Adkins.
“It’s a game that isn’t going to change where we finish in the table and that gives me an opportunity to look at things for next season as well.
“Dan Batty for example – he’s come through the Academy and is somebody that I have really high hopes for – I’d like to think that I’ll give him an opportunity this weekend.”
Angus MacDonald will miss out with the shoulder injury picked up last Saturday, while Moses Odubajo is unlikely to be involved despite playing some part in training this week. James Weir also misses out with a longer-term knee problem.
