Match Preview: Rochdale vs Hull City

Hull City are back in pre-season action on Saturday afternoon, with a trip to Rochdale next on Nigel Adkins’ agenda (KO 3pm).

The match-up serves as a natural progression to the lads’ 2018/19 preparations, as they take on Football League opposition for the first time.

At the Crown Oil Arena, Adkins’ side will be looking for a second pre-season win after kicking off their schedule with a 2-1 victory over C.S. Maritimo in Portugal, which was followed by defeat to S.C. Braga.

Those pre-season outings, coupled with a training exercise against Lincoln City in midweek, mean fitness levels are on the rise within the Tigers’ ranks, and the Head Coach will be looking for his players to build an effective style of play and a winning mentality ahead of the new campaign.

Rochdale, meanwhile, will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to pre-season following back-to-back wins over Stalybridge Celtic and Stockport County in their opening two friendly fixtures.

Keith Hill’s side finished 20th in Sky Bet League One last year, with the upcoming campaign their fifth consecutive season in the third tier of English football.

Tickets for the pre-season clash are priced at £10 Adults and £5 Ages 16 and under. Cash turnstiles will be in operation at Rochdale, whilst Hull City fans will also be able to purchase tickets from the Crown Oil Arena ticket office on the day of the game.
