Seb Larsson has praised the quality coming through the Tigers' youth ranks and believes that there is a bright future ahead.
Whilst Jarrod Bowen and Max Clark led the way in 2017/18, along with Dan Batty who came through to make his league debut on the final day of the season, the next crop of young talent isn’t too far behind.
The likes of Callum Burton, Robbie McKenzie, Tyler Hamilton and Adam Curry were amongst those exposed to playing in front of a 60,000+ crowd at the weekend as part of the Club’s post-season visit to Kenya, and Larsson has been impressed by the attitude of the young players over the last nine months both in training and on the field.
“It’s been brilliant to see Jarrod and Max coming through this past season,” said Larsson.
“I remember when I was coming through at this level and it’s all about trying to make a mark and trying to show what you’re capable of.
“To sustain that for a season in the Championship is not easy but Jarrod and Max have made a terrific job of it. They’ve made that mark and now it’s all about reproducing it again next season to build on the solid foundations that they have put down. The talent is certainly there.
“It’s always important to have young players coming through and we have had a lot training with us this season. That has given them the chance to get used to a first team environment and different situations even though they haven’t necessarily got onto the pitch on a Saturday.
“They’ve been learning what it’s all about and they’ve done really well. For them, it’s now about taking the next step next season.”
